This summer, we're continuing to include conversation starters,
bolded in each section of Edah News.

Kochavim

We are excited to welcome our second session campers to Kochavim! We have already formed strong bunk connections and friendships. The rain didn't slow us down this week. Kochavim had a blast on Tuesday's Yom Geshem, having our faces painted and playing games at the carnival, and making slime in the slime factory. Ask your child his/her favorite activity of the carnival. We relaxed with a snack during PJ Library story time. Thank you to PJ Library for giving each camper a book to bring home. We stayed busy at ma'ayan, ceramics, makers, and pickling in bishul! If you haven't yet joined our Kochavim Korner Parents Facebook group, click here to request to join. Shabbat Shalom from Kochavim!

Shorashim

Welcome to all of our second session campers! We are happy to have you as part of Shorashim. We had a great start to the week creating beautiful trays with tissue paper and glaze in omanut. The rain didn't stop us from having a full day on Tuesday. The carnival came to town on Yom Geshem! We had our faces painted, played bingo, had relay races, and even a mini Maccabiah! Ask your camper about his/her favorite activity at the carnival. We stayed busy all week swimming, dancing at rikkud, beading at ma'ayan, and dressing wacky on our Yom Shishi Meshuga. If you haven't joined our Shorashim Parents Facebook group, please click here to request to join. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom from all of us in Shorashim!

Nitzanim

Nitzanim is happy to welcome all of our second session campers! We explored the Twelve Tribes of Israel in shiur this week. To create bunk cohesiveness we shared ideas on unity and how to be kind to one another. On Yom Geshem we loved the carnival complete with face painting, board games, bingo, and asking our madrichim our toughest questions during an exciting game of "Stump the Counselor." We also had a fantastic camper talent show. Ask your camper which talent s/he shared. Campers enjoyed lots of pool time, sports, ceramics, and ma'ayan this week. If you have not yet joined our Nitzanim Parents Facebook Group, click here to request to join. Nitzanim wishes all of our Ramah family a Shabbat Shalom!

Solelim

Welcome to all of our Solelim second session campers! We had fun at the carnival on Yom Geshem doing face painting and relay races, but the highlight was building structures out of pretzels and marshmallows! We also had special bunk days on Thursday with each bunk having its own theme. Campers and counselors dressed up in their bunk's theme and had fun peulot. This week campers also started new bechirot (electives) and chose their second session shiur. Ask your camper which bechira s/he chose. We especially enjoyed ma'ayan (beading) this week, and special games and activities on the migrash. If you have not yet joined our Solelim Parents Facebook Group please click here to request to join. We wish you a Shabbat Shalom from Solelim!

Tzeirim

Tzeirim was excited to welcome our second session friends to camp this week! Second session campers chose their tefillah bechirot (tefillah electives) and we loved having tefillah with Amichai the Music Guy this week. On Yom Geshem we had a blast at the carnival doing relay races and playing bingo. Our Yom Pajama was achla! Counselors and campers came to camp in pajamas, enjoyed special snacks, and read "bedtime stories" from PJ Library. Ask your camper about the book they read on Yom Pajama. We stayed busy this week making Shabbat boxes in etz (woodworking), creating beautiful crafts in ma'ayan (beading), and making pita with chocolate in bishul bachutz (outdoor cooking). If you have not yet joined our Tzeirim Parents Facebook Group please click here to request to join. Wishing you all a Shabbat Shalom from Tzeirim!

Nevonim

Nevonim gave a warm welcome to our second session campers this week! We stayed busy doing our favorite activities at camp. We started new projects at ceramics and ma'ayan (beading), made pita with chocolate at bishul bachutz (outdoor cooking), and tested our skills at migdal (high ropes). We also chose new bechirot (electives). No amount of rain could stop us from having fun this week and Yom Geshem was achla! We loved the carnival, playing games, and we had an amazing camper talent show. We listened with pride as we heard three campers read from the Torah for the first time this week and we practiced a new section of the Amidah. A highlight of the week was our special day, Yom Pajama. Campers and counselors came dressed in pajamas to camp, enjoyed delicious snacks, and read books from PJ Library. Ask your camper about the book s/he read on Yom Pajama. If you have not yet joined our Nevonim Parents Facebook Group please click here to request to join. Shabbat Shalom to our Nevonim Family!

Chalutzim & Bogrim

Chalutzim and Bogrim had another incredible week! We had a special tefillah discussion about respect which was the perfect way to welcome our second session campers. Counselors and campers established bunk norms and discussed how they want to treat each other. This week's theme was Nature Conservation. Campers visited a local waste management facility where they learned about recycling and received special pencils made out of recycled money. Campers were inspired by their visit and posted flyers around camp encouraging our community to recycle the plastic cups we use at our water stations. Ask your camper about what s/he enjoyed on their out-of-camp visit to the recycling facility. On Friday we had Yom Chayot (Animal Day) where we explored the important role animals play in the ecosystem and on our planet. We made bird houses, dressed up as animals, and had animal relay races. We loved our Hebrew lunch and learn this week, where counselors spoke to campers in Hebrew during lunch and we played fun games in Hebrew. If you have not yet joined our Chalutzim and Bogrim Parents Facebook Group please click here to request to join. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom from Chalutzim and Bogrim!
