Prospective Families
It’s been a busy first week for Nevatimers. Campers loved learning the Nevatim cheers! Some of us went to bishul bachutz (outdoor cooking) while others explored the low ropes course. We all had a chance to swim, play some sports and dance on the migrash. Nevatim is ready for a chalom week two!
We had a fantastic, chalom first week in Shorashim getting to know each other. The campers had a great time in the swimming pool and learning their way around the camp. We danced, played sports, tried the low rope course, and explored nature. We even started practicing our song for Zimriyah! We’re all looking forward to a chalom second week!
Nitzanim campers spent an amazing first week getting to know each other. We played sports including soccer, softball, archery and pickleball. We also got to know the omanut (art) area, getting busy with ceramics and woodworking. Nitzanim enjoyed swimming too. We are excited for week two, it’s going to be a chalom week!
Tzeirimers began the first week getting to know one another. Many of us enjoyed woodworking and robotics. Chanichim (campers) played basketball, softball, soccer and tennis. It was great to start swimming in the breicha (pool). Chanichim chose their bechirot (electives), and we even began learning our Zimriyah songs! It has been a chalom first week at camp!
Sha’ar
We’ve had a sababa (awesome) start to the summer welcoming everyone to Sha’ar and the chanichim (campers) are already using our milat hakayitz (word of the summer), chalom (dreamy), to describe their first days at camp!
Our madrichim (counselors) from Israel are speaking to them exclusively in Hebrew and exploring all of our areas in camp! They are staying cool by drinking mayim (water) from their bakbookim (water bottles), and swimming twice a day in the breicha (pool). They are also getting used to the lunchtime vocabulary: Ani rotza maklot dag (I want fish sticks), and chanting fun cheers to identify the brachot (blessings) we say for each food. This week has been full of all the exciting activities camp has to offer and we are already hearing Hebrew words from all chanichei Sha’ar (Sha’ar campers)- from our seasoned oldest campers in Nevonim down to our youngest Sha’ar edah, Kochavim.
